Cookbook Writing Retreat

Calling all aspiring cookbook authors, Annette is hosting a Food Forward Cookbook Writing Retreat in 2026! Presented with her book packager, Janice Shay (Literary Agent, Book Packager, Member American Book Producers Association), first-time cookbook authors will learn invaluable information on how to write and publish a cookbook. Shay will examine the various stages of production, helping you shape your idea, organize contents, write standard book recipes, plan food photos, and work with photographers and designers to shoot your book. The contemporary author’s three pathways to publication - standard publishing, hybrid, and self-publishing - will also be explained.
Shay has produced more than 50 cookbooks, including At the Table of La Fortezza, which was nominated for an IBPA award for best international cookbook in 2022, and Annette’s recently self-published dessert cookbook, The Sweet Life at La Fortezza.
Retreat attendees will attend daily workshops designed to
